YOUR HELP IS NEEDED TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF CHILDREN AROUND THE WORLD!
Your generous donation will go toward Save the Children, which was the world's first global charity for children. Each year more than 4 million newborns around the world die because they lack basic necessities like clean water, healthy food and vaccinations. One in five kids in the U.S. currently lives in poverty. With programs in more than 120 countries, including the U.S., Save the Children focuses on providing long-term hunger relief, education, literacy, nutrition, basic hygiene and health programs to those who need it most.
Every Child Deserves a Future
In the U.S. and around the world, Save the Children gives children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. When crisis strikes, they are always among the first to respond and the last to leave. They do whatever it takes to save children, transforming their lives and the future we share.
Children may only be 20% of our population, but they are 100% of our future. That’s why advocacy is core to Save the Children’s work on behalf of all kids across the United States and the globe. They're building bipartisan support at the local, state and federal level to make sure every child in the U.S. has access to high-quality learning opportunities, and much more.
Education is a proven ladder out of poverty, and starting early is key. Save the Children works with parents to help them become their child’s first and best teacher through their home visiting program. They lead Head Start and Early Head Start programs in four states, providing kids with early learning opportunities they might not otherwise have. Through their school-age programs, they help children get ready for kindergarten and achieve the critical third grade reading milestone, a major indicator of future success.
When disaster strikes, children are always the most vulnerable. That’s why Save the Children has been on the ground protecting America’s children in every major disaster since Hurricane Katrina. In the earliest days of disasters, they send emergency responders, deliver essential relief supplies and provide safe spaces for children to learn, play and cope. Their team is also committed to long-term recovery programs that help children return to learning. They help schools, communities and children prepare for disaster, too.
Whether coping with the devastation of a disaster or facing long-term impacts of growing up in poverty, Save the Children’s social and emotional development programs help kids cope and build resiliency. Toxic stress and other life challenges affect children and caregivers alike, and that’s why their Journey of Hope program ensures children and families have the necessary support to manage and recover.
